Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about F7 Quartz countertops — from material composition to daily care, installation, and warranty coverage.
General Questions
Quartz countertops are engineered stone surfaces composed of approximately 93% ground natural quartz crystals combined with 7% polymer resins, pigments, and other materials. This makes them harder and less porous than granite or marble.
Unlike natural stone, F7 Quartz never requires sealing, offers perfectly consistent patterns (no slab variation surprises), and is manufactured to specific hardness and stain-resistance standards. You get the beauty of stone with modern performance benefits.
F7 Quartz products come with a 25-year limited warranty covering manufacturing defects under normal residential use. Commercial applications are covered under a separate warranty. Please contact us for full warranty documentation.
Care & Maintenance
No. Because quartz is non-porous by engineering, F7 Quartz countertops never need sealing — ever. This is one of the key advantages over natural granite and marble, which require annual resealing to maintain stain resistance.
For daily cleaning, mild dish soap and warm water is all you need. For stubborn stains, use a non-abrasive surface cleaner. Avoid bleach, highly alkaline cleaners (pH above 9), and abrasive scouring pads which can dull the surface over time.
While quartz is scratch-resistant, we recommend always using a cutting board. Repeated direct knife contact can eventually dull the surface finish, and hard materials like ceramic knife edges may scratch the surface under pressure.
Installation
F7 Quartz countertops are available in 2cm (3/4") and 3cm (1-1/4") thicknesses. The 3cm thickness is the most popular for kitchen countertops and provides a substantial, luxurious appearance without needing a plywood backing.
F7 Quartz is not recommended for outdoor applications. Extended UV exposure can cause color fading, and freeze-thaw cycles can stress the material. For outdoor surfaces, we recommend porcelain or natural stone alternatives.
Quartz vs Other Materials
Both are excellent choices, but they serve different needs. Granite offers unique natural veining with each slab being one-of-a-kind. Quartz is more consistent, never needs sealing, and is slightly harder and less porous. Quartz generally wins on maintenance; granite wins on natural, one-of-a-kind aesthetics.
Marble is calcite-based and highly susceptible to etching from acidic foods (lemon juice, wine, coffee) and staining. Quartz gives you the marble look without the vulnerability — ideal for busy kitchens. If you want true marble, be prepared for regular maintenance and some patina over time.
